Genesis of evolution

The founder trustee of the organization is a devotee of Sri Shirdi Sai since his childhood as all his family members are devotees. From the childhood days he developed inclination towards servicing human kind. Deep meditation and reciting the Sai Mantra brought him different miracles. He could do what he wanted to do for the service to mankind. Nothing could hinder him and Lord Sai paved the ways to overcome all hurdles. He experienced the blessings of Lord Sai in different forms.  He thought of forming the Sai Ashram at Buguda to serve mankind and wrote a letter to Lord Sai seeking his blessings, kept it beneath the Sai Photograph. After fifteen days, the reply came “ you go ahead I am there”. From there the journey started towards ultimate aim of life – serving people in need through the Sai Ashram.

Bestowing  faith on Sai Baba’s philosophies and practices and realizing the fact that there is a need to put in practice the principles of Shri Sai Saba, the founder trustee and  group of his devotees formed the Sri Shiridi Sainath Seva Ashram Trust in 2008  at Buguda, an area where inequality, caste based discrimination, atrocities and poverty of the weaker sections are prominently manifested. The Trust believes in the concept of “ Service to Mankind is Service to God”. To have a meaning for our life, It is the right  thing to serve the persons in need and the people craving for help in various spheres of their lives.  The Trust is now popularly known as “SaiShakatiDham”.

The values of Ashram Aligned with Lord Sai Thoughts and values

'Sarvam Vishnumayam Jagat' is the central principle of Vedanta. This may be called Universalism. Sai Baba lived by this principle. He had identified himself with all creatures -- not only human beings but even birds and beasts, reptiles and insects. Not for him was the man-woman distinction. Differences of caste, creed and religion are man-made and therefore artificial for him. He talked of democracy, socialism and equality in every sphere of life.

In the contemporary society people live with complexities, discrimination, greed for money and  inequality, no peace of mind that lead to sufferings. Dominating materialism has captured the very  essence of humanity leaving apart the spiritualism a far reaching goal. Hence, there is need to promote the ideologies  and practices of ShriSiridiSai Baba, serving others in need, building a just society where all are equal, live in harmony with each other,  get peace of mind and discharge the duties for the greatness of human kind. The Trust and the devotees are committed to promote “doing good to others, living in harmony , nurturing the creation of God is the ultimate goal of humanity”.

Work of Trust

Since its inception in 2008, the Trust has been working for the poor and vulnerable sections of the society. The activities undertaken by the Trust are as follows;

Drinking water supply

Safe drinking water is a scarcity in Gajam district particularly during summer. Even all through the seasons most people particularly of the unprivileged communities do not get safe drinking water. As a result they suffer from water borne diseases. Considering this fact the Trust has arranged pipe water supply system to 10 villages around Buguda. However, there are many such villages who are yet to receive this facility.

Free Child Education

Children are future of the Humanity. Every Child should have access to wholesome food, good education and appropriate health care. Believing this concept and being touched by the plight of the children who loiter around the campus every day, the Trust realized that these children should be educated along with some incentives to motivate them to learn on a regular basis. Started with small number of children initially, the Trust now caters to the need of more than 300 children.

Vocational Training

Equally important is the plight of women in the under-privileged vulnerable sections particularly from Tribal and Dalit communities. To provide them  an opportunity to learn vocational skills and earn regular income to overcome their plight, the Trust is imparting market driven women friendly employability skill trainings. So far skills trainings on leaf plate making, tailoring are organized. The duration of training to achieve perfection is of three months. There are plans to expand this activity to remote areas of the block and the district.

Health Care Services

To provide basic health care to the poor and needy is an important concern of the Trust.  Founder of the Trust after taking the devotion of Sri Sai Baba in 1992 realized a desire to provide basic health care to the poor and needy. To fulfill this realization, the Trust is undertaking mobile health care services in the needy communities serving about 10,000 patients every year.

Distribution of Blankets and cloths

Blankets and clothes are distributed to the poorest of the poor, leprosy patients. single women widows and tribal people of Buguda and Polasara block of Ganjam district.  Around 1000 such people are identified every year with the help of community leaders, school teachers and dedicated Sai followers who  receive the benefits.

Free Feeding  to Hungry Soul

The hungry souls are fed every  second Thursday of the month in the premises of the Ashram . On an average 1500 hungry souls get food on the day.

Distribution of Learning Material

Learning materials like pen, pencil, note books etc. are provided to tribal children and other needy children. About 200 such children receive the benefits every year.
